III. Objectifs et méthodologies
Contribution de l'unité d'enseignement au profil d'enseignement *

The course theme is the integration of European financial markets and the European regulatory environment in which financial firms operate (Basel II, MiFID, UCITS, etc ...).

During the sessions, it will be discussed the state of play in the financial integration process in the EU context, its characteristics and significant features, and the remaining tasks that are being addressed to complete it. By financial integration, we refer to the integration of financial services sectors and its impacts on the society.

The course aims at understanding the European environment, developing the student's ability to critically analyze the genesis, the main issues of EU financial régulations and its impacts on the business conducts.

Four main themes will be addressed:

• Key Principles of financial market integration

• Consumers credit regulations

• Financial institutions and cross-cutting issues

• Financial markets


We always make sure to understand the impacts of regulations on the financial sector, their conduct of business and economic environment. In this context, the types of risks (and their regulations) faced by the financial sector (banks, investment funds, etc ...) and their impact on the value management will be concretely discussed.

As regards the potential is vast, we will deepen the topics that are currently the most sensitive and above all analyze the principles underpinning the European Financial Integration. The student will prepare regular sessions based on cases / readings, internet research, etc. The active participation of students is absolutely required.

Méthodes d'enseignement et activités d'apprentissages *

The course is based on the use of a variety of pedagogic and interactive methods, including case studies from the industry, shared experience, visits, analyses of current examples and best practices. Active involvement and contribution from the participants is highly recommended and welcomed.

IV. Evaluation
Méthode(s) d'évaluation *


The grade will be based on:

  • Participation,  individual participation and group work during classes (and thus your      active presence) and quality of presentations count for 15% (so active contribution and thus presence are required); and
  • the exam counting for 85% (including a case study counting for 1/3 of the exam).

In order to succeed the course, students shoud obtain 10/20 for both parts (participation and exam), otherwise the grade is the minimum of the two parts.
